Amazing
Released in 1993, Hocus Pocus initially met with modest box office success but has since blossomed into arguably the most influential and beloved family Halloween film of all time. Directed by Kenny Ortega, this fantasy comedy successfully blends historical lore with modern teen angst. The story begins in Salem, Massachusetts, where, 300 years after their execution, the wickedly entertaining Sanderson Sisters are accidentally resurrected by Max Dennison (Omri Katz), a skeptical teenager from Los Angeles.

The heart and soul of this 1993 movie lies with its three leads: Bette Midler as the dominant, buck-toothed Winnie; Sarah Jessica Parker as the ditzy, boy-crazy Sarah; and Kathy Najimy as the scent-obsessed, clumsy Mary. Their over-the-top, theatrical performances are pure magic.
